If anyone is interested in directly assisting me with the development of this website, I would be more than happy to provide the necessary software and training that would enable you to work with me on it from your home. I have received some favorable comments from Frank & Ed, so at least for now I will continue updating this site. I will gladly burn CD's of the site for anyone who does not have Internet access. I also have a master set of CD's of Dad's interview at Earl Bent's house in 1983. I can provide a set of 5 that will play on any CD player or a single MP3 CD that can play on a computer or a compatible DVD player. I now have the ability to burn DVD's so I can get quite a bit on a DVD that will play on a desktop DVD player.
I must say that the material that came from Frank and Dot and than the tapes that Earl made with Dad have really been great. It is like putting a puzzle together - picking up dates and places from various documents and piecing them together. Some pieces bring up more questions and some answer them. I would like to make a map showing the various places where the Hotze's and Bent's lived in St. Louis. As you can see, I really have a good picture now of part of Dad's past places he lived. I'm still trying to track down the locations of where some of the Hotze's or Bent's lived such as Lawton, Chestnut, Shenandoah, & Halladay. When I searched for 3125 Lawton, it pointed to the middle of Harris Stowe college just north of Market around Grand I believe. Apparently Dad's mom died on Lawton and around that time the family was split up a little - Bent apparently lived down on a farm near Rolla for awhile and I believe Dad must have stayed close to his mom. jkh
